A recent shitty painting

I did this for a friend of mine at work recently, immediately after I got over my cold, natch.

They were pretty adamant about two things only, that it have a sexy lady and the colours (so it matched with their decor). I could understand this, so I did it, and they loved it, and I had a bit of fun doing it but also killed some important brain cells due to the spray-paint fumes, I was pretty high by then end of it all, woo.

So, the other thing was I can't really claim that much credit for it. The couple (dude from work and his lady-friend) gave me a print out of the anime lass, so I made stencil layers out of her for the different colours and sprayed away, so my talents as a proper painter are still to be truely tested, lol. The bad news is now that I have a hankering to go and stencil spray the whole of brisbane like some miscreant youth, bwa hahaha

that's all I got to say about the piece, shazam

YOUNGBLOODFORCEFLAGGSEED! YAY!

Internet,

so, with this comic con thing happenning, I got a little nostalgic and what speaks nostalgia than some shitty marvel/Fantastic four/avengers rip-off?

sorry, I'll try not to do it again and move on with my life

Yeah, Youngbloodforceflaggseed. The kickin'-est super pals.

I remember back when these comics first came out. I can't believe the image guys decided to do bad copies of super-heroes in an already flooded market. When they first started image, they really had an opportunity to do something different from what had been done before, but instead they squandered all that potentail away, lol. What a bunch of dumb-heads, hahaha

I also vaugely remember Liefield stuff. Though I can't remember these characters names. Liefield was such the poster boy for the over-hyped mood of american comics at the time, namely all killer, no filler. It's funny that he was able to get any work given how shit of an artist he was/still is. It's kinda funny that he can still get gigs yet I know for a fact I can draw better than him, and still get funny looks from people, lol. Bad times internet.

And what of those other guys like Mcfarlane, and Lee, silvestri etc etc? they've all vanished into the ether. Last time I checked Lee was wasting his talents re-visiting the whipped horse batman, HAHAHA, man, these guys really didn't bother re-defining their chosen medium. I guess they can't really be considered artists then, artists as I understand it are always trying to do something different and not staying in a rut. These guys are just not creative, so lame. Even Manga is more creative than they are, lol.

Thankfully doods like Kazu and Kang and O'malley and Holgate (to name a few) and a whole bunch more are doing it right. Only good things can come from all their efforts, definitely.

I'm just glad that there is finally some variety out there now, lol.

cheers
